We still haven't gone shopping for a new "big boy" bed as he came down with the most horrific stomach flu on his birthday, which he then shared with mommy and papi. We only recovered on Saturday and then it was time to shift into party preparation mode.

A few other pictures can be seen here, but they are pretty crap.

This is what 3 looks like

I wish I had taken a better picture of him this morning. Here he is brushing his teeth before school. I also forgot to take a picture of the treats (Kinder snacks wrapped somewhat artfully in Cars paper - baked goods are not allowed) I sent for the kids in his class. I think the only reason he did not cry before school this morning is because he knew candy would be involved at some point during the day. He's no longer a baby. Sniff, sniff.

I asked him where he wanted to go for dinner and he said Ikea. Hee hee. Swedish fast food, it is!

Back to the grind

Grandma Mimi left yesterday so no more exciting adventures in the south of France or Switzerland for us. After three weeks off, Dylan goes back to school Monday. I have to say that I'm not looking forward to it. Being the night owl he is, he now likes to sleep late-ish, which has been kind of nice and we've had some great lazy days together. Plus I'm not ready to hear all of the whining each morning. Now not only is he going to be cranky when woken up, I'm going to have to break the news that he also has to go to school! Sigh. In any case, here are some random recent shots taken with my cellphone camera.

This is either the best Christmas gift he got (lets him burn off energy on those cold, rainy days - in other words from September to April) or the worst Christmas gift he got (something feels kind of "dangerous" about it and Dylan has a very weak gag/vomit reflex)

We took Grandma Mimi to Montecarlo, one of the most exclusive towns in Switzerland...and our local mall. Here's Dylan riding his beloved "Cinquecento" (Fiat 500) at the good old mall

Out for brunch at a "real 1950s-style American diner" that recently opened in Milan. Not necessarily authentic but they get an A for effort. The muffins were excellent (though who eats muffins in a real diner?). I think Dylan looks quite collegiate here. As if he's having a malt before the sock hop.
